Hot Wok Friday at The Oriental
Hot Wok Friday was a media launch for The Oriental Bar and Restaurant. The primary aim was to raise awareness of its location at The Mailbox, as well as to drive business.
We organised for a traditional Thai rickshaw known as a Tuk Tuk to be at The Mailbox, from which we sold special Hot Wok Boxes. These were hot take away dishes that were sold to shoppers and staff at lunchtime.
The PR campaign resulted in the Tuk Tuk being featured on ITV1’s Central News – the peak 6pm bulletin. Viewers saw weathergirl Emma Jesson give her weather report from the back of the Tuk Tuk holding The Oriental’s Hot Wok Friday bags.
News items and interviews were also aired on BBC Radio WM and Heart FM.
Photo stories were also featured in The Birmingham Post, City Living, Birmingham Life and Touchbase magazines.
